Multiple Dropdowns (Selects)
The multiple dropdowns (selects) question type allows you to ask multiple closed-ended questions linked to 1 “main question”. Respondents select an answer from a drop-down list for each sub-question.
This question type is similar to the single dropdown (select) question type, but you can add as many rows of dropdowns/selects as you like.
When respondents click on a dropdown, a box will appear allowing respondents to choose an answer choice. A search bar will display above the answer choices, allowing respondents to quickly search through the answer choices.
You can add as many answer choices as you need – but when working with very long lists, the format should be familiar to respondents. For example, country names, state/counties, or another familiar format.
Here are some example questions using the multiple dropdowns (selects) question type:

01 When on the ONFORM editor, click the "+" button and select "Question"
A new question block will then load
02 Click on the "Question Type" dropdown and select "Multiple Dropdowns (Selects)"
03 Add your question in the "Question" box
This is the question that will be asked, and which respondents can select answers from dropdowns in response to.
04 Click "Add Row" to add a dropdown; for each dropdown you wish to add simply click "Add Row"
Input the row label/sub-question for the dropdown and add your answer choices. You can add the answer choices one-by-one or you can check the “Bulk Add” toggle to bulk add.
05 Add a note to each dropdown (optional)
To add a note to a dropdown click the “Options” tab for the respective dropdown and click the toggle to add your note.
06 Adjust settings as necessary by clicking the options tab and choosing the relevant settings.
The available settings are:
- Note (allowing you to provide additional supplementary information)
- Required (the respondent will have to provide an answer to the question)
